    January 28th, 2012

While the rapid improvement in socio-economic conditions is thought responsible for the high rates of cardiovascular disease in the Gulf states, deep-rooted cultural factors also play a part. “We’re sitting on a time bomb,” says Professor Hani Najm, Vice-President of the Saudi Heart Association, whose annual conference begins Friday 27 January…

Tammy J. Answer Your Question About Fat Burning Foods For Teenagers

    January 28th, 2012

    Maria asks…

    How can i GAIN weight?

Ok well im 18 yrs old…i stand about 6’2” tall and weigh roughly between 175-185 lbs. Not that theres anything wrong with my weight now but i wanted to know if theres a way i can gain some weight as far as muscle mass(not fat). I have a very fast metabolism and play sports alot so i tend to burn alot more calories than i take in i suppose. My arms and legs are very skinny and im very flat chested which isnt too bad now but later when im like in my 20s and still look this skinny….that could be a problem…people would mistake me for being a teenager still. So i want to know if theres any legit way i can add some muscle mass to my frame…like workouts, food etc. Any suggestions or tips greatly appreciated
BTW i do eat quite a bit. I eat alot of cereal, bread foods, and snacks like popcorn, pop-tarts and fruits liek grapes, oranges, and strawberries but some reason i still never gain weight…could it be my metabolism or do i need to eat better?

    Tammy J. answers:

Heres some lifts for building muscle
    Bench press
    push ups
    pull ups
    chin ups
    chest press
    curls
    crunches
    pull downs
    dead lift
Those are some pretty basic lifts for your upper body. Take a protein shake after you workout. Whey protein is the best. Make sure you work out every other day. Good luck

    George asks…

Do you agree the following steps to stress?

    Stress

    1. The starting point to turn stress into success is to lessen your load. Eighty percent of the cure can come out of writing down all your cares and responsibilities in order of priority, then eliminating the least important.

    2. Remember that Superman and Superwoman exist only in comics and films. Everybody has a breaking point, so recognize yours and call a halt before you reach your limit.

    3. With stress comes pent-up feelings. Get them “off your chest” by sharing them with a trusted friend or counselor. This of itself can bring immediate relief and helps you to think and plan more objectively.

    4. Stop fighting situations that can’t be changed. As one father told his impatient teenager, “If you would only realize and accept the fact that life is a struggle, things would be so much easier for you.” Learning to live with and get on top of struggles is what helps us grow and mature.

    5. Watch your diet and eating habits. When under stress we tend to overeat—especially junk food which increases stress. A balanced diet of proteins, vitamins, and fiber while also eliminating white sugar, caffeine, too much fat, alcohol and nicotine is essential for lowering stress and its effects.

    6. Be sure to get plenty of physical exercise. This keeps you healthier and helps burn up excess adrenaline caused by stress and its accompanying anxiety.

    7. The ultimate answer to turning stress into success is to learn to trust God through Jesus Christ and live in harmony with his will for your daily life. God’s peace comes through accepting and trusting in Jesus Christ.

Tammy J. Answer Your Question About Fat Burning Diet Plan

    January 27th, 2012

    David asks…

Diet for burning fat (belly fat)?

Im 19, 5’9 and i weigh 165 pounds. Over the last couple years i have developed some fat around my stomach area (enough to where you cant see my abs really at all). I have started working out and am planning on now starting a diet. I AM A VERY PICKY UNHEALTHY EATER so it is sort of difficult to jump into eating better. I am planning on starting a diet which I want to be basically consist of the same foods each day. The following is a specific example of my diet
    - a lot of eggs
    - fruits (mangerine oranges, sliced pineapples)
    -lots of water
-protein smoothies (From my college’s cafeteria)

    - no more sodas
    - no more carbs/ very low carbs
    - minimal sugar

i do not intend for this to be my entire diet. Thats why i am posting this question. Please give any suggestions on other foods. I am struggling to figure out a diet to really accomplish the results i would like as fast as possible. thanks

    Tammy J. answers:

Things like fresh fish are very good for you as they are high in protein and they wont make you gain weight as long as you don’t fry them or cook them in an unhealthy way. Ensure that you have lots of veg too are they are very low calorie but they will fill you up and nourish your body too. Try eating egg whites rather than the whole eggs as this may also help.

    Maria asks…

What is the fat burning furnace solution?

I was watching the video about the Fat Burning Furnace (FBF) at www.fatburningfurnace.com and it said you had to buy the package to get the diet or excercize plan but I just can’t buy it and I would like to know how to lose weight. HELP!

    Tammy J. answers:

The core idea behind Fat Burning Furnace is doing High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT). This isn’t a new idea, but FBF takes it to a whole new level and helps get you the most results for the minimum amount of time.

The basic idea behind HIIT is to push your body to it’s limit with just a few intense reps. This breaks down your muscles, and as they rebuild themselves, they burn away a lot of calories and eat up all your fat deposits. It’s really quite effective.

FBF gives you few different HIIT workouts that you can use based on your fitness level and whether or not you have access to a gym, so it’s not a one-size-fits-all workout program.

The diet program helps you fuel your body and complements the exercises. It goes into a lot of detail with portion sizes and amounts and such. I’ve never really been into all that. The diet part is okay, but the real magic is in the HIIT exercises. As long as you eat a healthy diet and do the HIIT you should be fine.

Tammy J. Answer Your Question About Fat Loss Diet

    January 27th, 2012

    James asks…

what really promotes fat loss, besides diet and exercise?

im not fat but i want to lose that few extra abdominal fat, to have lean abdominal ,

are there any supplements that help me reduce fat fast ?

    do acia berry really work?

    Tammy J. answers:

You can’t target fat loss. Your body decides where it’s going to lose the fat and really, you can’t do anything about it. You can continue to try to shed a few extra pounds and hope it drops from your belly. And you can target muscle generation, so you can try crunches and other ab exercises to get things going.

You can also help raise your metabolism. There are a few ways to do that such as green tea, spicy food and lots of fruits and veggies.

Acai berry juice has been debunked recently, so I wouldn’t waste my money on that.

    Betty asks…

Which one is less fattening and better for a fat loss diet?

Which snack would be a better option if I’m on a fat loss diet?

-nature valley’s honey n’ oats granola bar(180 cal)(54cal from fat)
    -Sara lee blueberry muffin(170cal)

    http://foodservice.saralee.com.au/images/blueberry_muffin_lg.jpg

which one is less fattening and better for a low fat diet? The muffin has less cal and i’m not sure how many calories come from fat but which is good for a snack ?

    Tammy J. answers:

The granola bar is better because it contains whole grains and the muffin contains enriched flour. Whole grains are better because they do not spike your insulin. An insulin spike causes fat loss which is why the whole grains are better. Enriched flour spikes your insulin. Whole grains take longer to digest so they will leave you feeling fuller longer which helps lose weight.
